If you do any amount of writing as a freelancer, and find yourself writing some phrases or special words over and over again, you need to check out TextExpander. This app (for the Mac) allows you to set special keywords that expand into longer blocks of text, and honestly pays for itself in time saved.

Example: I send clients a payment link to a generic PayPal page when I send them invoices. Before TE, I had to find the page, copy the link, and paste it into the email. Now, I simply type “plink” and those letters magically expand into the full URL of my payment page. Pretty need. And considering the fact that I send about 50 invoices each month, that’s a lot of time saved.
